Roles of the Parish Nurse include:
 
  • Health counselor
  • Health educator for congregation and community 
  • Advocate and referral agent to community resources
  • Coordinator of health promotion programs
  • Developer of support groups
 
The Parish Nurse works in close conjunction with a health ministry team to assess needs of the congregation and plan health and well-being programs to meet the needs of the congregation and community.  Members health is enhanced by leading them toward physical, social, emotional and spiritual wholeness in their lives.  Faith and health is integrated in all client interactions and programs. The Health and Wholeness area promotes the belief that we care for mind, body and spirit to live healthy lives.
