Health & Wholeness Ministries

Prayer Ministry

SUMC's Prayer Ministry is a vital component of the health and wholeness of our church. Teams pray for individuals and situations within the church and our community. For more information, please contact Star McHan.

Forget-Me-Not Ministry

This special ministry is for our senior adults or those who are sick or confined to their homes, nursing home or hospital bed. Volunteers visit at least once a month, make regular phone calls, and mail cards. Our Children’s Ministry and Preschool & Kindergarten Program love to make cards for our homebound members, especially during Valentine’s Day, Christmas, and Easter. For more information about Forget-Me-Not Ministry, please contact Lyn Powell.

Angel Gown Ministry

This ministry is made possible because of wonderful donors and volunteers who have often experienced the loss of their own children or of another loved one. Brides from around the world donate their precious wedding gowns to our SUMC Ministry. The wedding gowns are then distributed to our team of seamstresses throughout the Church to convert into perfectly made garments that a family will use to wrap their precious baby in for their final journey. Our garments are a gift of love from both a bride and a seamstress to honor not only a precious baby, but their family as well.

We’re looking for Volunteers to make an impact in our community and share in a wonderful ministry! In cooperation with CDC guidelines, SUMC is adhering to social distancing rules by allowing Volunteers to pick up their materials for each project while sewing “angel gowns” at home.

Support and Recovery

Stephen Ministry

If you’re going through a difficult time in your life that has you saying to yourself, "I sure wish there was someone I could talk to", then a Stephen Minister can be just that for you: a caring Christian friend, trained to listen, support and encourage you, who will keep all that you say in confidence and meet with you face to face for as long as it helps. If you are in that situation, it might help to know more about how Stephen Ministry works. Click here to view a brief video about Stephen Ministry at Snellville CC.
